All
A significant amount of activity has been taking place over the last few weeks up at Tulchan.
The feeders and drinkers have all been put out and where relevant staked to the ground to avoid them being knocked over.
Derek has been there almost full time getting the pens and things ready.
Steve has been there brashing the road side drive, building the Shed Drive pen, removing window blow at top of arm, new paths brashed through shed drive and auto feeders, made/ repaired for the duck ponds.
The ducks were delivered and put onto the weedy field pond, main pond and top ponds.
Supplies of feed and bird puller and sacks have been ordered and they are due for delivery this Wednesday. The poults are due for delivery on the 8th July so we are looking to get a work party together to fill feed sacks and get them out to fill the feeders. For those with slightly less capacity to wield feed sacks around, Steve created an accessory for the feed trailer that will allow you to fill feed sacks easily. Anyone with a 4×4 the accessibility would be highly appreciated.

For those with hawkish eyesight you will be able to see the placement of the non-pen feeders. A larger map is available in the shoot hut. As planned, the majority of these feeders are accessible from roads or next to fence lines in fields. Some groups and pens will require walking in with feedbags.
This is a massive job for one person and a much faster job for many teams (Pens, drivers and sack fillers).
As an observation, some members of the syndicate have put a lot of effort in already this season whereas others seem to have barely managed a minimum. A planned workday for filling the feeders is Sunday 30th June. Please indicate your intention to attend. We have around 50-100 sacks, but it will take 2-3 sacks just to get a base level in each feeder so a system of sack fillers and feeder fillers will be required.
Best regards
Neil
