From Alistair

Well, it was a chilly start with 3c registering on the car en route to Tulchan. Folk met up at 9 am the new location to view the recent arrival of the latest shoot lodge. Fortunately, Dave had managed to work out where to come.
A strong cold easterly wind blew all day.
We split into four separate groups. Brian and Fergus (I think) brashed the three woods at the boulders. Bobby removed all the nails and light fittings from the shoot lodge in the morning, and in the afternoon started dealing with the plastic tree sleeves with Ken Smith (who had been at the Beeches in the morning).  ? Stuart busied himself collecting all the feeders. The rest of us worked tirelessly under Derek’s and Steve’s direction at the Beeches, clearing up all the debris burning what was flammable, and then preparing the ground for the artichokes arriving next week. Watching Steve and Ray operating the digger and rotavator was fascinating- and without which we could not have achieved all that was done. The amount of stone that was unearthed during all this was also an eye-opener.
By the time we had finished, it was fast approaching 5 pm.
I think everyone will sleep well tonight.
Cheers,
 Alistair.
