Another hurricane and another seriously wet and windy day. Some great drives though.
The beaches produced several waves of pheasants, but with a string crossing wind the birds all banked towards Glenalmond. In hindsight it would have been worth the top guns in the field and maybe the back guns to have been positioned down the track and into the potato field.
Pushing from Frank’s to the pond produced further good results and waves of birds cam out rounds 1 twards Allan at the gate.
Finally we pushed up the arms with a few more birds pegged for the bag.
Looking at the faces at lunch, that was enough.
John was back in the beating line and the new faces continue to add experience and effect supporting Derek.
A personal thanks to Ray who came out to pick up. What a great impact he made with his dogs collecting during the shoot and ensuring runners were gathered as quickly as possible.
