Dear All
I thought I would drop you a quick line with an update of what’s been going on at Tulchan.
So the Poults were ordered as expected and delivery is due early July.
Speaking to Frank the game crops are in. The Beeches took slightly longer to burn off than the other one, but it has gone in with the new seed stock and fingers crossed they get a bit of rain in the next day or two to help that along.
Derek was very upbeat about the progress made with pens, etc. He has been up there most days and enjoying the freedom. The only issue needing to be tackled is the “new” quad. The fuel levels got a little low and dirt in the tank has been pulled into the carburettor. We will need to sort this soon as Derek’s intensity around the estate increases over the coming weeks. Currently, Stewart is not going up to Frank’s so we will need to think about a solution if he isn’t able to help.
The rats have got out of hand up at the shed. This has been due to the feed that sits up there for the pheasants so we are sharing the cost with the estate to cull the rat population. The rat-man has been out and completed one “dose”. He thinks it will need 3 in total. If anyone is up at the shed then please be mindful that poison has been spread around this area.
So everything is looking good, with the one small exception of the quad issue. If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know.
I trust you are all in great health and dreaming of the coming season.
Good Health.
Neil
