Hello All
I thought it might be useful to send out a quick email to remind/ refresh on tasks needing to be completed for the shoot. I have yet to get a date from Derek for delivery of the pheasants, but the plan is still the end of June so with that in mind there are a number of tasks that should ideally be completed before their arrival.
This email will appear on the website www.tulchanshoot.co.uk under the News section. The following link will take you straight there: https://tulchanshoot.co.uk/news/ . Please feel free to leave a comment to update everyone as to how you are progressing with your allocated tasks.
As a final note I believe that the balance of the subs are due at the end of May. Please contact Sandy directly to settle.
Agreed tasks from the AGM.
· It was agreed that tasks would be assigned to individuals and groups. There will be no set days prearranged – It is up to syndicate members to organise themselves.
· Brian & Ken Allan – Feeder maintenance and distribution – Derek to advise on suitable sites
· Ken Smith & Bobby Scott – Stile maintenance and construction – It was agreed that most of the stiles on the estate should be replaced or upgraded. Brian may have some decking material suitable for the purpose.
· Walter & Fergus – Chainsaw work within the plantations – Derek to advise further.
· Neil M and Steve – Chainsaw work – Path to be cut at the boulders plantations on the boundary fence to allow unhindered access for beaters walking guns.
· Rob & Neil A – Clear sites & paths within the wooded “Birch” area to encourage undergrowth/cover.
· George & Grant – Pen maintenance & assessment/upgrade of Duck butts – there are some pallets at Frank’s house.
· Neil H, Paul and Adrian – Cutting a path through and removing Rhododendron bushes to aid access for beaters. Derek to advise on location.
· Sandy – Construction of “deflecting” fence in the Rhododendron area to keep birds form escaping during the Weedy Field drive.
· Kenny Taylor – Bridge maintenance and construction. Bridge requires in the felled area to aid access. Frank to advise on location.
· Derek – Organise water tank/drinker supply at the bottom of the Arm.
· Trees at the bottom of the arm are to be cut down using professional services – Syndicate members to remove branches with the remaining trunks being left intact for processing at a sawmill.
